Pasture Raised Heritage Chickens

When we began our farm, our first animals were Heritage chickens, including three varieties: Barred Plymouth Rocks, Black Australorps and Ameraucanas. All are considered excellent layers of brown eggs, with the Australorps known for having laid 300 eggs a year. This means for us that we will have eggs even in winter.


We use Heritage poultry because they are an all-purpose bird. They are healthy, hardy on pasture, disease resistant, and capable of laying, setting on and hatching their own chicks.

Like grass fed beef, pastured raised chickens and the eggs they lay are healthier for us, which is why we started our farm. We supplement them only with soy free, organic feed. We'd like to share this healthy bounty with you.

We will have free-range broilers available frozen most of the year and fresh about every month. See right column for actual dates. Chickens will run about 4 to 7 pounds each. Giblets, feet and heads are also available, if reserved before butchering. These can be ordered separately as a per pound order, or come free with the chicken you purchase, if you wish to have them included. The chickens and eggs are only available for sale locally.
